Hi Owl Families,

Thank you to those of you who were able to attend today’s Coffee with the Principal.  If you are a parent of a student who is returning in the HYBRID model in Trimester 3 and you were not able to attend today’s presentation, it is CRITICAL you review the attached slide deck and watch the recording of the meeting to ensure you and your child are set up for success when returning to in person.

Please note: It is imperative that EVERY SINGLE FAMILY at AST complete the Trimester 3 Survey (THIS SURVEY) by 2/19.  ALL families need to take this survey, even families who want to keep their students on their current hybrid schedule or keep students 100% remote.

Free Student COVID Testing Resources:

In the conversation today, some families asked for the COVID testing resources – please see below for more information regarding testing.

In partnership with COVIDCheck Colorado (CCC), all students will now be able to take a baseline COVID-19 test before coming back to school, as well as an ongoing COVID-19 student screening test every other week.

Baseline testing can be completed at any of COVIDCheck Colorado’s testing sites via this link (students and staff must use their DPS ID). Unless you have tested positive in the last 90 days, everyone is encouraged to take a baseline test in the new year. The tests are free, fast, and reliable. See an updated list of testing sites here including at the Montbello campus, Abraham Lincoln Campus, North HS Campus, All-City Stadium, and a new site at George Washington HS. The test will be completed via nasal PCR test or SalivaDirect™, and results will be returned within 36-72 hours.

At any time, your families and students can schedule a test at existing CCC sites. Students and employees should use the district link, while family members can continue to use the community link.

For a quick overview about testing sites and access, -please watch this PSA.
