Shane Dawson has deleted tweets after followers called him out in reference to one of the biggest YouTube beefs – we’re talking Tati Westbrook and James Charles of course.

If you cast your mind back to May last year you’ll remember the tea that was spilled when Tati shared a lengthy video and James Charles lost about a bajillion subscribers and honestly, we don’t have all day to go back into it again.

But essentially, Tati shared a YouTube video titled ‘BYE SISTER’, where she accused James of ‘manipulating people’s sexuality’. Hair vitamins were also mentioned. As a result, James lost almost three million subscribers on YouTube, while in contrast, Tati gained three million.

At the time, Jeffree Star sided with Tati, (who deleted the original video) as it seemingly split the online beauty community in two.

Shane, who is perhaps best known for his documentary series, was recently accused of being a part of what was known between Tati and James as ‘Dramageddon’.

Dishing a rather dishy statement that got Twitter into a tizz, Shane has now well and truly distanced himself from the drama, as he deleted his lengthy, four-page message.

He wrote on Sunday: ‘I deleted everything. I’m done. For those who wanted me to “address it” I did.

‘I’m sure u can find it reposted somewhere. But I don’t want this energy in my life or on my timeline. I’m too sensitive for this sh*t and I’m done. (sic).’

Going back a little to add context to Shane’s latest tweet, the influencer posted a long note to his social media speaking on the whole palaver, while referencing Tati, James, and Jeffree (whom he collaborated with on the Conspiracy palette).

In the now-deleted essay on Twitter, he called out basically the lot of ‘em, as he vehemently denied he was involved in the Tati drama (but admitted he knew about the video), after he was accused of being a key player.

He wrote: ‘So did I ‘plan’ dramageddon? Are you SERIOUS? NO.

‘Do people in the Youtube world come to me like a grandpa and ask me for advice? Yes. Is it easy for me to get wrapped up in something potentially toxic if I think someone I love is hurting or upset? Yes. It’s an issue I need to work on and have been working on.’

Shane also apologised for hinting he’d be talking about the drama as alluded to in the trailer for his series, Beautiful World Of Jeffree Star, but not mentioning it at all in the end, as he wrote: ‘Putting drama in the trailer was something i [sic] regret more than anything in the world and I’m mad that I chose tea over my morals.’

After answering a bunch of questions in some list akin to a reader FAQ, Shane went in: ‘The beauty gurus who are ALWAYS involved in scandals are ALL THE F**KING SAME. They are all attention seeking game playing egocentric narcissistic vengeful two faced ticking time bombs ready to explode. And I’m OVER it.’

He added: ‘This all happened over a year ago and I’m really sick of hearing about it and having people constantly using it as a way to keep my name and other names tagged together in drama videos.’

Well then.

Honing in on James, who spoke about the extent to which his mental health suffered during the drama, he wrote: ‘Do I think he was a young, egocentric, power-hungry guru who needed to be served a slice of humble pie the size of the Empire State Building? Yes.’

Then Shane mentioned Jeffree, saying that while he loved him, he said he didn’t agree with the way he approaches some situations.

He wrote: ‘Yes, Jeffree is in that list of dramatic gurus and he would admit that, and he will always be family to me and I love him, despite those characteristics. He’s very aware of the fact that I don’t agree with many of the ways he approaches situations and I have been very honest with him about needing to make some changes.’

But then he was done.

He wrote: ‘As for my channels, I’m done with the beauty world. I love what I was able to create with Jeffree and I’m sure people are going to assume I only did it for money, but that’s not true. I just am choosing to no longer be a part of that world.’

His followers called him out in their droves, leading to Shane deleting the whole message, and we told you this was a lot to unpack.

So suppose we’ll just be here…waiting for the response from those name-dropped…
